Not Your Average Girl

“This Is Not Just a Documentary. It’s a Declaration.”

Not Your Average Girl is a journey through survival and becoming—a visual memoir that dares to tell the story behind the spotlight. From growing up in the South to standing in her power at the 2025 BET Black & Iconic Awards, Hope offers viewers a raw and intimate look at the trials, triumphs, and tenderness that shaped her. This is a love letter to every Black trans girl who’s ever been told she wouldn’t make it—and a reckoning with the systems that tried to silence her.
