Adapted from Guy de Maupassant's "Boule de Suif", this satire-cum-thriller transposes its backdrop to wartime China. On a bus crossing a checkpoint, a pretty girl coveted by a Japanese officer sacrifices herself to aid the patriotic cause against the enemy.
