Mayurโs breakthrough as a screenwriter came with the global blockbuster Om Shanti Om (2007), directed by Farah Khan. His dialogues for the film, including the legendary "Filmfare Award speech," have become an indelible part of Indian pop culture. He continued his collaboration with Farah Khan on Happy New Year (2014), a screenplay that earned the prestigious distinction of being selected for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (AMPAS) permanent Core Collection.
