Bruna Loureiro

Hi, I’m Bruna! I’m 28, a Portuguese language, reading, and writing teacher, and the mom of Dante, a bright little five-year-old who brings so much color and meaning to my life. For the past seven years, I’ve been building a life with someone I’d choose to share every other lifetime with. I’m curious about the world and get a little impatient with things I already know. I’d rather have coffee with orange juice on the side than an espresso, love trying dishes I’ve never had before, and, if life were one big menu, I’d always go for something new. Books are a big part of my life. Two of my favorites are Oração Para Desaparecer (A Prayer to Disappear), a story about love, faith, and belonging, and Capitães da Areia (Captains of the Sands), which I read when I was 14 and which had a direct impact on the way I see the world politically. I’m incredibly proud of Brazilian literature, and yes, I believe we have the best culture in the world.
